Daily Fantasy NBA Vegas Outlook: Kobe and Durant Headliners!

daily-fantasy-nba-vegas-outlook-march-5-13The daily fantasy NBA Vegas outlook had another solid showing last night on the pro hardwood with the Raptors and Warriors 125-118 final producing a bunch of eye-popping fantasy performances (3/4/13). We’ll start with Andrea Bargnani who had one his best games of the season in totaling 35 fantasy points (6x), but DeRozan failed to come through. On the Warriors side of things, both David Lee (43 FPs) and Klay Thompson (27 FPs) held up their ends of the bargain as well; hopefully some of these guys helped lead you to some tourney cashes at Fanthrowdown! For Tuesday night, we’re digging into the huge Western Conference clash between the Lakers and Thunder.

Oklahoma City Thunder (-8’) Total: 213.5

FTD NBA-1Trends: The ‘over’ is 5-2 in the Lakers L/7 overall games played with a combined scoring average of 213.1 PPG, and it’s 13-4 the L/17 LA hit the road to battle a +.500 home team. The Thunder have played to the ‘over’ in 15 of their L/22 versus Pacific Division opposition, and it’s cashed all three times OKC hosted a game with a point ‘total’ of 210 points or greater.

Refs: The crew assigned to this game has produced an average of 194.6 PPG to date, with the ‘over’ 7-7 in games with a point ‘total’ of 205+ points. Each of the L/3 OKC games reffed by Kevin Fehr have gone ‘over’ the closing number with an average of 212 points, while David Jones saw a pair of overs come in in the only two Thunder games he’s called this season.

Los Angeles Fantasy Focus:

No-Brainer Beast Add

SG Kobe Bryant ($8800) This is as big a game as it gets for the Lakers who will be looking to get over the .500 mark for the first time since October. With that the case, there’s no other Laker I’d be more confident in adding to my daily fantasy basketball roster than that of the “Black Mamba” whose tallied an average of 42.3 FPPG versus the Thunder in this season’s previous three skirmishes.

Value Play

SG Jodie Meeks ($3700) It’s tough to single out any one particular position that OKC struggles to defend with it ranking 6th in defensive efficiency. However, for LA to have any shot of competing in this one, it must knock down some shots from beyond the arc like it did the last time these teams met in Tinseltown (7/17). It’s time this youngster stepped up and put forth a big performance in a crucial game, so I’m gonna roll the dice here and hope Jodie goes bonkers from downtown to perform at least 6x his reduced salary.

Oklahoma City Fantasy Focus:

No-Brainer Beast Add

SF Kevin Durant ($9900) He costs a pretty penny since he’s the most expensive player to roster at Fanthrowdown for the night, but the price is well warranted. The Lakers are conceding a season-long 21.4 Eff to the SF position, a 21.7 Eff on the road, and a 21.3 over the L/10 games; the “Durantula” has averaged 47.7 fantasy points per game versus the Lakers this season!

Value Play

SG Kevin Martin ($5300) Martin hasn’t made much of an impact for the Thunder recently with him scoring double-digits only twice in the team’s L/4 games, but he’s been better from a fantasy perspective at home (20.8 FPPG) than on the road (16.5 FPPG), and the Lakers rank 20th versus opposing SGs overall (19.6 Eff), 24th on the road (22.0 Eff), and 27th over their L/10 (24.3 Eff). If ever there was a spot he should go off, this is it!
