Jack Hannahan IF Cleveland Indians ($9,220,000) – We’re going right back to the well with Hannahan in this spot as good as he’s treated us over the last week. He raked another pair of hits to go along with two RBI last night and has now hit safely in each of the L/7 games he’s stepped to the plate. He’ll no doubt be manning the hot corner this evening, and with him 7-for-13 lifetime with two bombs and six RBI vs. Hochevar, look for him to tally yet another solid daily fantasy baseball total and extend that streak to eight!
Brandon Phillips IF Cincinnati Reds ($1,662,500) – After sitting out two games over the weekend in Chicago due to inclimate weather, the former All Star returned to the line-up in Monday’s series opener with the Giants and proceeded to go 1-for-3 with a 3-run HR and scored a pair of runs in Cincy’s 9-2 win. He’s a career .467 hitter with three doubles and two RBI against Zito, and he’s hit safely in each of his L/4 games with a pair of HRs. He’s heating up but his daily fantasy salary hardly reflects it – take advantage!
Colby Rasmus OF Toronto Blue Jays ($9,220,000) – Though the Blue Jays CF went 0-fer last night in the series opener, he’s still in a good groove going 9-for-26 with two HRs and three RBI over the course of the last week. He had one of his best batting performances of the young season the first time he ran up against Hammel tallying three hits and a pair of RBI. Hammel’s only pitched past the sixth inning against the weak hitting Twins in three starts to date, and with this being his second go round against a potent Jays line-up, we expect it to get ugly real quick for him at Camden Yards tonight!
**Value Hurler of the Night**
Mark Buehrle SP Miami Marlins ($6,560,000) – Tonight will mark the first time a bulk of the Mets line-up will get to take hacks against the fast paced southpaw. Each of his first three starts as a Marlin have been of the quality variety, and though he’s only averaged 5.0 fantasy points to date, he could be in store for a big showing against the free swinging Mets. Dickey is a known commodity by the Marlins line-up after he posted three shut-out wins against them last season; that’s something Ozzie will be sure to remind them before they take the field. Backed by a solid bullpen and nearly costing half as much as the perceived aces going Thursday night, Buehrle’s as good a value pick as there is on the daily fantasy baseball board!
