Sidney Crosby against the Jets is the play over the NHL’s leading scorer, Thomas Vanek. The Sabres sniper is scoreless in each of his past two games with a minus-2 rating, including a goose egg and minus-1 against Boston last time out on Sunday.

Henrik Zetterberg has managed no goals over his past six games, but he has accounted for six assists. While Evgeni Malkin does have a goal during the past six games, they each have the same amount of points. Overall, Zetterberg has five goals to just three for Malkin.

– The leading scored for the Devils, David Clarkson, has cooled off somewhat, although he did have a multi-goal game Sunday in Pittsburgh. Still, those were his only points in the past four games. That’s much better than Evander Kane, who hasn’t lit the lamp in seven games dating back to Jan. 27.

Andrew Ladd has been on fire lately, going for four goals, an assist and plus-3 rating over his past five games. This one isn’t even close, as Daniel Winnik did most of his damage early in the season. Over the past seven games, Winnik has no goals and just two helpers.

Francois Beauchemin has managed a goal, three assists and a healthy plus-6 rating over his past four. Kimmo Timonen carries a four-game point streak into play, including a goal last time out. However, Beauchemin also isn’t afraid to get his nose dirty, and will block shots and collect plenty of hits. That’s the difference here.
